Modeling View in Power BI Desktop

The new modeling view for Power BI Desktop is here! See the announcement in the November Power BI Desktop feature summary. It is designed to work with enterprise datasets that grow in complexity. Such datasets can easily contain over 100 tables.

Here is a summary of what you can do with the new modeling view.

  • Break out complex models by subject area into separate diagrams.

  • Multiselect objects and set common properties in one go.

  • View and modify properties in the properties pane.

  • Set display folders for simplified consumption of complex models.

This animation shows some of what the new modeling view can do.

We put a lot of work into the new modeling view and we hope you enjoy it!
