Nate Silver to headline Microsoft Data Insights Summit

Join us for the inaugural Microsoft Data Insights Summit, on March 22-23 in Bellevue, Washington, and discover new ways to bring your data to life. This will be the first Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel user conference designed especially for you, the business analyst. We’ve created multiple session tracks with your needs in mind. You’ll hear from industry leaders, get direct access to the experts who build Power BI and Excel, and see how your peers are solving challenges similar to your own. You’ll have the chance to influence the evolution of products you use every day. Most of all, you’ll get inspired to use your data in new ways that can help transform your business.

It all begins with our distinguished speakers

Nate Silver, Founder, FiveThirtyEight. Silver launched the field of data prediction into the public eye with his accurate analyses during the 2008 and 2012 elections. Today he’s pioneering the new field of data journalism with his award-winning website, FiveThirtyEight. In his keynote he’ll share his thoughts on the increasingly valuable uses for data-based predictions in modern business, politics, sports—and life.

James Phillips, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft’s business applications, platform and intelligence. Phillips oversees Microsoft’s business applications, platform and intelligence organization. His teams build and operate the products and services that form the Microsoft business intelligence product line, such as Power BI and SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services.

Rob Collie, Founder, PowerPivotPro. Collie is among the foremost authorities on self-service business intelligence and next-generation spreadsheet technology. He was one of the founding engineers behind Power Pivot, and created the world’s first Power Pivot service. He is also the founder of a consulting service (PowerPivotPro) and the author of two books, including the world’s number-one selling Power BI book, DAX Formulas for Power Pivot.

Problems solved, innovation accomplished—and that’s just the first hour

We developed our conference schedule with you in mind. In addition to breakout sessions, we’re offering one-on-one Ask the Experts meetings with the people who build Power BI and Excel, networking events and hands-on trainings. Build a schedule that fits your interests and needs from these session tracks:

  • Big Ideas
  • Customer Stories
  • Power BI
  • Excel
  • Advanced Analytics

There’s a wealth of sessions to choose from! The day begins (and ends) with some of the best minds in the business. You’ll learn best practices for leading the business analytics revolution within your corporation and have the opportunity to network with other business analysts. So bring your questions, leave with answers and valuable new skills on the technology you use today, including Power BI, Excel, and SQL Server Analysis Services and Reporting Services.
