On-premises data gateway October update is now available

We are happy to announce that we have just released the October update for the On-premises data gateway.

This month’s Gateway update includes an updated version of the Mashup Engine, which matches the one released as part of the Power BI Desktop October update. This will ensure that the reports that you publish to the Power BI Service and refresh via the Gateway will go through the same query execution logic/runtime as in the latest Power BI Desktop version. Note that there are some Beta connectors (such as the newly added Vertica connector in Power BI Desktop) still not supported by the Gateway. Please refer to specific connector documentation for more details or contact us if you have any questions.

You will notice that this update is light in terms of new features compared to previous updates. We’re heads down working on some exciting new features related to the Gateway that will be announced over the next few weeks, so please stay tuned to this blog for more details!

That’s all for this month’s Gateway update. We hope that you find these updates useful and continue sending us feedback for what new capabilities you’d like to see in the future.
