Power BI Desktop April Feature Summary

This month we are delivering a number of great capabilities. We are introducing Quick measures, which is a huge update to our Quick Calcs experience. We have some very exciting updates in both data connectivity and query editing, including allowing you to connect to datasets on the Power BI service, so you can create your model just once and use it in multiple reports. We also have an innovative new way to add columns in your query editor: add column by example. Additionally, we are extending our matrix preview with even more features and releasing a preview of Q&A in Spanish.

Announcing support for Amazon Redshift connectivity in the Power BI service

A few months ago we released a Preview of the Amazon Redshift connector in Power BI Desktop. This new connector allows users to easily build reports based on their Redshift data, either by importing the data into Power BI Desktop or by using DirectQuery mode. Today we are very excited to announce support for Redshift-based reports in the Power BI Service, allowing users to publish their reports to unlock seamless consumption of reports & dashboards based on Redshift data. In this blog post, we will show you step-by-step how to accomplish this task.

Power BI Desktop March Feature Summary

We have a very exciting Power BI Desktop update for you this month! We have several highly-requested features in this month’s release, including textbox font color, several visual improvements, and previews of three highly requested features: report theming, a new matrix visual with major experience updates, and a numeric range slicer.
